How To Install Toyo Proxes Tire Stickers

Assuming you’ve received your Toyo Proxes white lettering kit, what’s next?

The Toyo tire decals are pre-cut and perfectly aligned as part of the tire lettering kit, so, it’s pretty easy to install. No measuring or cutting is needed.

The best thing to do is take your own time. These become bonded to the tire permanently, so, you don’t have to care about do-overs. You just have to give yourself like 15 minutes on every wheel at the minimum, including preparation time.

You can start by thoroughly cleaning everything with a cleaner, probably acetone. Any residue, dirt, or grease left on your tires prevents letters from sticking and might result in the letter peeling off within the edge or fall off. Like plasti-dip or painting, you will need to spend about 80% of the time on the preparation work and 20% of the time on the application itself.

After the wheels are well cleaned and have completely dried from the clearing solution you had used, you are ready to start applying the letters.

You can then apply the supplied glue at a time to the rear of the lettering kit. It’s best if you moderately apply the glue to ensure none seeps out. Ensure you don’t use much, even though you want to ensure there is sufficient coverage to the end of your lettering otherwise these edges will over time peel out.

If you’re still in doubt, you can then start with less, as you try applying more.

The secret is to only do a few letters every few minutes, or at most just one decal, else, the glue will quickly dry than you can even move and you will have lots of mess in your hands.

After you’ve applied an optimal amount of glue to the rear of the decal, you can line up the decals on the tire’s sidewall.

How To Maintain Toyo Proxes Tyre Stickers

Toyo tire stickers are created to be permanent and will last the tire’s lifetime. We don’t recommend using the tire shine. Rather, use the normal soap and pressure for washing them.
